About Superior Paddling
Superior Paddling seeks to inform, inspire, and compel sea-kayakers to explore and appreciate the endless possibilities of paddling and kayak-touring in the upper Great Lakes region.
Superior Paddling offers a growing collection of helpful technical and travel articles, paddling and camping product reviews, a photo and video gallery, and links to other paddling- and kayak-related web resources.
But we’ll also take a closer look at premier paddling spots like the Apostle Islands, Pictured Rocks, Manitou Islands, Isle Royale, and other great sea-kayaking destinations in the upper Great Lakes region. And the advice and how-to tips you’ll find here are equally helpful no matter what watershed you live in.
Superior Paddling was founded and is edited by Jeffrey Lee, an avid sea-kayaker, outdoors writer, and photographer. A lifelong resident of Wisconsin (bounded by not one, but two, Great Lakes and by North America’s largest river), Lee is an experienced paddler, is WMI-certified in Wilderness First Aid, and a campfire guitar hack.
His work has appeared in Adventure Kayak Magazine, and he is an occasional contributor to Paddling.net.
